bulletThe first engine to work the branch was the "Wren" built 1854 driven by Ben Partridge
bulletThe last engine to work the branch was 0-6-0 N.574, it took the last train to Kilfree and back on Saturday 2nd February 1963.
bulletIn the Corner Bar, Main Street there was a mural running around the four sides of the bar depicting the train passing various landmarks on its journey to Kilfree.  It was painted by a man called Houston from Ballymote.  When the bar was owned by the Gallagher family in the 1970's the mural was partially restored and it was of great interest to customers and railway enthusiasts alike.
